ASAQ boxes
  • a very simple, age-based dosing regimen
    - 1 tablet per day for 3 days for infants, children, and adolescents
    - 2 tablets once a day for 3 days for adults
    - Optimised dose ratio to avoid over- and –under-dosage
  • ASAQ is the first FDC of the antimalarials, artesunate and amodiaquine, to be granted
  • "prequalified" status by the WHO
    Now available and registered in 24 countries in sub-Saharan Africa
    5.3 millions treatments delivered in 2008; more than 20 millions to be distributed by end 2009
