Dr Carlos Henrique Nery Costa earned his MD from the University of Brasilia, where he completed the medical residency in internal medicine and a master’s degree in Tropical Medicine. He completed a doctorate in Tropical Public Health at Harvard University in 1997.
He was President of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine from 2011 to 2013.
He received the commendation of merit Renaissance of the State Government of Piauí and the Merit Award by encouraging the development of science, technology and innovation in the State of Piauí in the Northeast region, and he was twice patron of the forming de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Piauí.
Currently, he is Professor of Federal University of Piauí, doctor of the Tropical Medicine Institute Natan Portella, and Laboratory Coordinator of Research in Leishmaniasis.
