Claudia Pena Rossi, Medical Director, DNDi
Claudia Pena Rossi has recently joined DNDi as the organization’s Medical Director.
Claudia has 18 years of experience in drug research and development in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently at Sanofi US where she held a Vice-President position within the Immunology and Inflammation development franchise, and previously at EMD-Serono in Boston where she held an executive position of Group Head Global Clinical Development Immunology.
During her time in the pharmaceutical industry, she has held positions of increasing responsibility leading medical teams from early development up to global registration of new treatments in several therapeutic areas related to inflammatory diseases, with significant experience in global regulatory interactions. In addition to her experience in the pharmaceutical sector, Claudia was the Head of the Filarial Programme at DNDi.
Prior to her work in drug development, Claudia worked in basic and clinical science at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) and at the Pasteur Institute in Paris.
Claudia holds an MD and a PhD in Immunology from the Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris. She also holds an honorary position of Senior Research Associate at the University College of London (UCL).
